We Work With Ophthalmology Practices Across the Country
Engagements are delivered three ways — on-site with travel anywhere in the United States, hybrid combining an on-site audit phase with remote implementation, and fully remote via Zoom. Where your practice is located determines delivery format, not eligibility.
How Engagements Are Delivered
Three Delivery Formats
Format is scoped during the discovery call based on engagement type, geography, and your practice's preference. The three formats below describe the full range of how engagements run.
On-Site Engagement
Best for patient flow, compliance audits, in-person staff training
Includes one or more defined travel blocks — typically three to five business days on-site during the audit phase, with an optional second travel block at the measurement phase. Implementation work between travel blocks is conducted remotely. Travel expenses billed at cost and disclosed in the contract before signing. Available to any U.S. state.
Hybrid Engagement
Most common format for practices outside Southern California
One on-site travel visit for the audit phase; implementation, manager coaching, and staff training conducted remotely through scheduled video sessions and structured workflow. The measurement phase is remote with optional follow-up travel. Typically lower total cost than fully on-site while producing comparable outcomes for most engagement types.
Fully Remote Engagement
Ideal for documentation-heavy, SOP, and workflow-design work
Conducted entirely through Zoom, structured document collaboration, and scheduled video sessions on a defined weekly cadence. Audit phase uses video walkthroughs, structured staff interviews via Zoom, and remote data collection. Implementation uses role-play sessions, recorded training content, and milestone-based SOP handoffs. Equivalent outcomes to on-site for most workflow-design engagement types.
Format Compatibility
Which Format Fits Your Engagement
On-site is not always better. For documentation-heavy engagement types, fully remote often produces equivalent outcomes at meaningfully lower cost.
| Engagement Type | On-Site | Hybrid | Fully Remote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Patient flow optimization | Best fit | Audit on-site, impl. remote | Limited — space obs. matters |
| Premium procedure conversion | Best for counselor role-play | Strong fit | Effective for scripts & framework |
| Staff training & clinical development | Strong fit | Strong fit | Effective for didactic & docs |
| Staff accountability architecture | Best for sensitive mgr work | Strong fit | Effective once framework set |
| Right-hire interview evaluation | N/A — video-based by nature | N/A | Native format |
| Practice operations & revenue cycle | Strong fit | Best for most practices | Effective for workflow & docs |
| SOP documentation & systems | Minimal on-site advantage | Strong fit | Native fit |
Geographic Depth
Southern California Practices Get Operational Depth
While engagements run nationwide, the operational observations that inform every engagement draw heavily on direct in-practice experience accumulated across eight Southern California and New York ophthalmology practices over 25 years. The Southern California depth is unusually granular: direct clinical roles in Ventura County, the Conejo Valley, Westlake Village, Century City, and across the broader Los Angeles and Orange County markets.
Practices located in Southern California benefit from operational insight calibrated to the specific competitive environment, payer mix, referral dynamics, and patient demographics of their submarket.
On-site visits for Southern California engagements require no air travel, are scheduled around active clinical responsibilities in Westlake Village, and carry lower travel costs. Most Southern California engagements run on-site or lightly hybrid for these reasons.

Travel Logistics
How Travel Engagements Work
Travel is scheduled in defined blocks rather than ongoing weekly visits. A typical out-of-region engagement includes one travel block during the audit phase (three to five business days on-site) and optionally a second at the measurement phase. Implementation work between blocks is conducted remotely through scheduled video sessions.
The block structure produces lower total travel cost than weekly site visits while preserving the operational benefits of on-site observation and in-person staff training. For practices outside Southern California where travel changes the engagement economics, hybrid format often makes the most sense.
Time zone logistics: Diana operates from Pacific Time. Sessions are anchored to your clinical hours — typically morning Pacific, which aligns with mid-morning through afternoon across most U.S. time zones. No engagement has been declined for time zone reasons.
Travel Cost Transparency
Flights, ground transportation, lodging, and meals are billed at cost and disclosed in the engagement contract before signing. No markup, no per-diem padding, no hidden fees. Travel cost for a typical audit-phase visit to most U.S. metropolitan markets is modest relative to the engagement fee itself.
Remote Infrastructure
Remote engagements run on Zoom with a defined session cadence — typically 60 minutes weekly — not ad hoc. Includes recorded sessions where appropriate, shared document infrastructure for SOP collaboration, and milestone-based deliverable handoffs. Structure is what produces results, remote or on-site.
Common Questions
Service Area FAQ
Do you actually work with practices outside Southern California, or is that just marketing?
We actually work with practices nationwide. The Southern California depth is real — Diana's active clinical role is in Westlake Village and her resume documents eight practices across two states — and the nationwide capability is operational, not theoretical. Travel and video infrastructure are in place and in use.
How do I decide between on-site, hybrid, and fully remote?
This is a discovery call conversation. The right format depends on the engagement type, your practice's geography, and your travel budget. We make a specific recommendation during the call with honest tradeoff disclosure for each format option.
What is the maximum distance you will travel?
No fixed maximum. Travel anywhere in the continental United States is routine. Hawaii and Alaska are accommodated with appropriate scheduling. International engagements have not been undertaken and would require advance evaluation of licensing considerations.
Can multiple practice locations be covered in a single engagement?
Yes. Multi-location practices and small groups with locations across regions are common engagement scopes. The audit phase typically includes on-site visits to two or three locations with remaining locations covered remotely through video walkthroughs and structured documentation review.
Do you charge more for out-of-region work?
Engagement fees are scoped to engagement type, practice size, and duration — not geography. Travel expenses for out-of-region engagements are billed at cost and disclosed in advance. There is no geographic surcharge on the engagement fee itself.
My practice is small and travel doesn't make economic sense. Can you still help?
Yes. Fully remote engagements are designed exactly for this situation. Most small-practice engagements run fully remote or lightly hybrid. The engagement structure, deliverables, and methodology are identical to on-site work.
How quickly can a travel engagement be scheduled?
Initial discovery calls are typically within five business days. On-site travel for an audit visit is typically four to six weeks out depending on the consultant's active clinical schedule and the practice's preferred timing. Urgent engagements can be expedited.
